My guardian

Because Dorje came to stay with us, I learned to meditate in the woods.  I felt safe with her there with me, and I started to spend hours there, day and night.  Nature taught me to listen and appreciate a slower pace of life.

I found Dorje at the SPCA.  She was the puppy of a feral dog, a chowchow, who was living in a rural area near Newark Delaware.  There were 6 puppies, three of them with a long chowchow coat, and three with the shorter coat like Dorje has.  No one ever saw Dorje's father, and no one ever caught her mother.

Dorje learned to take care of me and my farm.  She has been a soothing, watchful presence for the past 11 years.  She is truly my best friend.  She sleeps at my feet every night. She swims in the creek during winter.
